Plans & purchases
Manage or cancel your subscription
Subscriptions are billed by the App Store or Google Play, so they’re cancelled there rather than inside Sunshine Stories.
Open Settings → Plan & usage and choose Manage — that takes you straight to your store’s subscription settings. Cancelling stops future renewals, and your plan stays available through the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
If Manage doesn’t open your store, go to your Apple ID or Google Play account subscriptions directly.
Restore purchases
In the App Store or Google Play version of Sunshine Stories:
- Sign in to your Sunshine Stories account.
- Open Settings → Plan & usage.
- Choose Restore purchases.
This reconnects a store purchase to your account. If access does not return, email us.
Refunds
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, so refunds are handled by the store rather than by us.
On iPhone or iPad, use Apple’s Report a Problem page for that purchase. On Android, request a refund from your Google Play order history.
Email us as well if something in the app went wrong — we can look at the account side while the store handles the payment.
Making a book
Fixing the words before the pictures
Every story arrives as words first. On the review screen you can edit any page, change the title, ask for a rewrite of one page, or rewrite the whole story from the same choices.
When you choose Approve story & create illustrations, the artwork begins — whole-story rewrites close at that point, though you can still edit the words yourself.
Nothing is painted until you approve, so take your time.
A book that didn’t finish
If a story stalls or comes back marked Try again, open the book and choose Try again — your choices are saved and Sunshine picks the work back up from where it stopped.
Books that look stuck often finish on their own within a few minutes, so give it a moment before retrying.
If the same book fails twice, its menu offers Need a hand? Tell us — that writes to us about that exact story. You can also email us.
Narration didn’t play, or sounds wrong
Open the book and open Narration. If it stopped partway, the sheet says Narration didn’t finish and offers Try again.
If Narration keeps running into trouble, Try again is replaced by Report an issue. That opens a message already filled in with the book’s title and reference, so we can find the exact story without you having to describe it.
Editing a page’s words after a book is narrated leaves that audio out of date — ask for Narration again once your edits are done.
The photo you used for a character
A clear face works best — one person, filling the frame. After you upload, Sunshine reads the photo for character details, and you review everything it found before any portrait is made.
If it comes back with We couldn’t read that photo, try one with a clearer face. If it says We spotted more than one person, use a photo with just that character in it.
You never have to use a photo at all. Describe them instead appears on the first screen and on every failure screen, and it builds the same character from your own words.
Saving, printing, and sharing a finished book
Once a book is finished and approved, open it and choose Manage this book from the three-dots menu. Pressing and holding the book in your library opens the same place.
Export as PDF prepares the file and hands it to your device, where you can save it to Files, print it, or send it on. Give it a moment to render — it isn’t instant. PDF export is included on some plans; if the option doesn’t produce a file, email us and we’ll check your account.
Share a link copies a public web link to your clipboard, ready to paste anywhere. Anyone with that link can open the book without signing in, so share it only with people you trust. The link stops working 30 days after you create it — opening it doesn’t extend that, and you can create a fresh one whenever you need.
Your account
Trouble signing in
Choose Forgot your password? on the sign-in screen and we’ll email a link to set a new one. It can take a few minutes, and opening it on your phone hands you back to the app.
To confirm your email address, open Settings, tap your name to reach Account & security, and choose Send another link. You can keep using Sunshine Stories while it’s unverified.
If you started deleting your account recently, signing back in during the removal window brings it back exactly as it was. Still locked out? Email us.
Notifications aren’t arriving
Open Settings → Notifications. Each kind of update — book updates, character updates, support replies and more — can be set to email, push, both, or neither.
If your push choices are saved but nothing arrives, that screen says so and offers Turn on push, because notifications also have to be allowed for Sunshine Stories in your device’s own settings.
Account and billing notices are always sent by email, for security and receipts.
Your information and privacy requests
You can change your name, email, and phone number under Account & security — open Settings and tap your name — and delete your account from that same screen.
To ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask for permanent removal sooner than the 30-day window, email us and we’ll take it from there. We may need to confirm who you are first.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep and for how long.
Delete your account
Open Settings, tap your name to reach Account & security, then choose Delete account.
If you have a renewing subscription, cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings first. Deleting your account does not cancel store billing.
Deletion signs you out and starts a 30-day removal window, and any share links you created stop working right away. To keep your account, sign back in during that window. For earlier permanent removal, email us.
